Leaving London behind for a day, I found my paradise in the vibrant city of Brighton!

As a travel blogger who frequently visits Brighton from London, I can confidently say that this charming coastal town is a must-visit destination for any traveler looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. With its picturesque streets, stunning seafront, and unique shops and restaurants, Brighton has something to offer everyone. In this article, I’ll be sharing my insider knowledge and favorite spots to make sure you can plan the perfect day trip from London to Brighton. So pack your bags, grab your camera, and get ready for a day full of adventure and relaxation in this vibrant seaside town.

Getting to Brighton

Getting to Brighton is easy, with a number of transportation options available from London. However, my personal favorite method of transportation is taking the train. Not only is it quick and efficient, but it also offers stunning views of the English countryside as you approach the coast.

One time, I was on the train heading to Brighton and I happened to sit next to a local resident who was more than happy to share some insider tips with me. She told me about a hidden beach that’s only accessible by foot, which I later discovered and absolutely loved. It’s these kinds of unexpected experiences that make traveling so exciting and memorable.

Another time, I took a bus to Brighton and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was a double-decker bus. Being able to sit on the upper deck and enjoy the view of the city from above was a unique and enjoyable experience. Plus, it was a great way to get a feel for the layout of the city before diving into all the activities and attractions.

Morning in Brighton

I always start my day in Brighton with a hearty breakfast. There are so many options to choose from, but my personal favorite is The Flour Pot Bakery. Their pastries are freshly baked every day and their coffee is top notch. After fueling up, I love to explore the famous Lanes. The narrow streets are lined with unique shops, selling everything from vintage clothing to handmade jewelry. There’s always something new to discover in the Lanes.

One of my favorite artisan shops is Choccywoccydoodah. They make the most incredible chocolate creations, from towering cakes to intricate sculptures. It’s definitely worth a visit, even if just to window shop.

If you’re looking for a more hands-on experience, head to The Painting Pottery Cafe. You can choose a piece of pottery to paint and decorate, creating a unique souvenir to take home with you.

The Lanes are perfect for a leisurely stroll, taking in the sights and sounds of the busy streets. And if you need a break, there are plenty of cozy cafes to stop in for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Afternoon in Brighton

As a travel blogger who frequently visits Brighton, I can confidently say that the best way to spend your afternoon here is by trying out some water sports on the beach. Brighton has a wide range of water sports activities available, from kayaking and paddleboarding to windsurfing and jet skiing.

One of my favorite experiences was kayaking along the coastline and exploring hidden coves and caves. It was a peaceful and serene way to take in the beauty of the sea and the cliffs. Plus, it’s a great workout!

For those who prefer a more thrilling adventure, I highly recommend trying out jet skiing. The rush of the wind in your hair and the waves crashing around you is an unparalleled experience. It’s also a great way to cool off on a hot summer day.

After some fun in the water, I love to relax on the pier and take in the sea view. The pier has a variety of activities to offer, from amusement park rides to arcade games and food stalls. I always make sure to grab a bag of fresh, hot donuts and enjoy them while watching the waves crash below.

Overall, spending your afternoon in Brighton on the beach is a must-do activity. There’s nothing quite like the combination of the sea, sun, and sand to make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
